
MY GIFT: A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL FROM CARRIE UNDERWOOD
An HBO Max Original, Underwood performed a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the joy and hopefulness of the holiday, as well as new original material from her first ever full-length Christmas album. Minor accompanied Underwood as her Musical Director, along with her band, a live orchestra and choir.

CELEBRATING AMERICA
Minor served as the Music Director for Celebrating America, a 90-minute prime-time inauguration special featuring remarks from President Biden and Vice President Harris and performances and appearances from Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Katy Perry, and Kerry Washington

The 92nd OSCARS
In 2020, Minor served as the Musical Director for the 92nd Academy Awards on ABC.

THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS
The Kennedy Center Honors celebrates those in the performing arts for their achievements and contributions to American culture. Held at The Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington D.C. The Kennedy Center Honors is a gala aired on CBS. Minor has served as Musical Director since 2015. He won an Emmy Award in 2020 for his work.

The 91st OSCARS
In 2019, Minor served as the Musical Director for the 91st Academy Awards on ABC.

MOTOWN 60: A GRAMMY CELEBRATION
The Recording Academy celebrated the The 60th Anniversary of Motown Records on CBS in 2019. Renowned Motown artists including Smokey Robinson, Thelma Houston, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder graced the stage along with contemporary stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Ne-yo, Ciara and Tori Kelly.

ARETHA! A GRAMMY CELEBRATION
Following the death of the legendary Aretha Franklin, both legends and new artists came together to honor and celebrate The Queen of Soul and her vast body of work. Minor served as both Producer and Music Director. Performers included Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monoe, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, H.E.R, Yolanda Adams, Andra Day, Brandi Carlile and hosted by Tyler Perry.

THE GRAMMY AWARDS
Rickey served as the Musical Director for the 49th, 50th, 51st, 52nd, and 61st Grammy Awards on CBS.

MICKEY'S 90TH SPECTACULAR
Musical Director for the two-hour prime-time special celebrating 90 years of Mickey Mouse, featuring star-studded musical performances, moving tributes and never-before-seen short films. Kristen Bell, Meghan Trainor, the Zach Brown Band, Luis Fonsi, Josh Groban, Leslie Odom, Jr., and more joined to celebrate the birthday of this international icon on “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular."

RIHANNA: VMA PERFORMANCE
Honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Rhianna took to the stage to perform some of her biggest hits during the ceremony. Minor was both Music Director and Conductor for the performance.

TAKING THE STAGE
The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture opened its doors with a two-hour celebration of music, dance, and comedy. Minor was a Producer and Executive Musical Director for “Taking the Stage: African American Music and Stories that Changed America." Featuring acclaimed artists including Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Will Smith, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Tom Hanks, Christina Aguilera, and Dave Grohl, among many others. The show celebrated America, and all of its citizens, through the prism of the African American experience and its unique contributions to global culture.

SMITHSONIAN SALUTES RAY CHARLES - IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Celebrating the career of Ray Charles, Rickey Minor was the Producer and Executive Musical Director of Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles. The program brought various interpretations, using his own big-band arrangements, to the East Wing. In partnership with The Obama White House and The Smithsonian Institution, Minor performed with Yolanda Adams, Leon Bridges, Andra Day, Anthony Hamilton, Brittany Howard, Demi Lovato, Sam Moore, Jussie Smollett, The Band Perry and Usher.

STAYIN’ ALIVE: A GRAMMY SALUTE TO THE MUSIC OF THE BEE GEES
The Recording Academy and CBS honored The Bee Gees and the record’s 40th anniversary in a star-studded, two-hour TV concert special. Minor served as Producer and Music Director. A roster of artists who turned out to honor the Bee Gees’ award-winning, critically-acclaimed song catalog. The performer lineup included Keith Urban, Ed Sheeran, Tori Kelly, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, DNCE, Panic! At The Disco, among others.

ONE VOICE: SOMOS LIVE
One Voice: Somos Live was a concert for disaster relief broadcasted on NBC. One Voice: Somos was an all-star telethon to help victims of the recent natural disasters in Mexico, the southern United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Telemundo and Univision worked together to simulcast the concert - a first in Spanish-language television history. Presented by Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, the event raised over $35 million. Performances included some of the biggest names in the music industry : Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder, Demi Lovato, and Chris Martin with Mary J. Blige performing from an NBC soundstage in Los Angeles.

SUPER BOWL HIGHLIGHTS
Minor has been at the helm at some of the greatest Super Bowl performances of all time. Artists include Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Backstreet Boys, Faith Hill, Mary J. Blige, Marc Anthony, Alicia Keys, and more.

AMERICAN IDOL
American Idol changed the musical landscape and ushered in a new era for music singers and songwriters. The show created many long-lasting stars including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Scotty McCreery, and Adam Lambert— who have gone on to have illustrious careers. Minor served as the Musical Director for American Idol for an outstanding nine seasons. He was instrumental in bringing live music to the competition show.

THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO
Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band was the house band of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from 2010 until 2014.

THE EMMY AWARDS
In 2017, Minor worked as the Music Director of the Emmy Awards alongside Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment.

DIANA ROSS: AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS
The legendary performer received the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 2017 American Music Awards. Part of the honoree’s night included renditions of her greatest songs including , “We Are The World,” “I’m Coming Out,” “Take Me Higher” and more.

ROCK THE TROOPS
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s hosted an all-star salute to the troops. On the tarmac at the historic Pearl Harbor-Hickam military base in front of 45,000 members of the military and their families, “Rock The Troops” featured musical performances by Nick Jonas, Tenacious D, Flo Rida, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aaron Lewis, among others.

LIONEL RICHIE - MUSICARES PERSON OF THE YEAR
The Musicares Foundation recognized Lionel Richie in 2016 for his significant charitable work ranging from AIDS and human rights, famine, poverty, and women’s issues. Minor served as the Music Director for this gala, that included musical stars such as Rhinana, Florence and The Machine, Lenny Kravitz, and Yolanda Adams.

VH1 DIVAS
Minor was the Executive Producer and Musical Director for VH1 Divas in 2002 and again in 2012. Artists involved included Celine Dion, Cher, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Shakira.

IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE: A CELEBRATION OF MUSIC FROM THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement showcased an evening that honored the music from the Civil Rights Movement, and its legacy and influence on American music. Featured performers include Yolanda Adams, Jon Baez, John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, and many others. Minor was the Musical Director for the event, held in the East Room of The White House, and aired on PBS.

WHITNEY HOUSTON: BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS
Minor was Whitney Houston’s Musical Director for her iconic Billboard Music Awards performances. In 1991, Loverman / My Man / All The Man That I Need and in 1994, I Loves You Porgy / And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going / I Have Nothing.
